Learning Objectives and Outcomes

In this lecture, you will...

• listen to a short overview about the course, course policies, and what you'll be learning
• work in small groups to get to know people in the class and discuss what you already know about computer hardware and why it is helpful to learn the material

By the end of this lecture, you should be able to...

• discuss the different layers of abstraction in computers, and which ones we'll be focusing on this course
• identify and discuss some "real world" scenarios where computer hardware is particularly relevant
